Experience Perth

The world’s most isolated capital city.

Though Perth may be the capital city, the Metro area is divided into 30 local government areas and 250 suburbs, stretching from Singleton in the south to Two Rocks in the North and as far inland as The Lakes—that's approximately 6,418 km2.

Picture perfect, the Perth area lets you hit all of the travel goals: beautiful beaches, stunning sunsets, gorgeous natural bushland, a thriving city district, arts and culture and food galore. There's so much to see in the world's sunniest capital city. Why not see where we can take you?

Iconic Perth

Did you even visit Perth if you don't take a picture at the Blue Boatshed or overlooking the city from Kings Park? Perth has dozens of iconic landmarks and instalments all worthy of your Insta feed. From the vibrant Chinatown to the texture and architecture around the Perth City Library, the history and painted displays of Fremantle or the street art scattered throughout the hidden laneways, there's always somewhere to stop and snap a shot.

Perth with kids

Keeping the kid's entertained isn't hard in Perth. Animal lovers will enjoy a trip to Perth Zoo to see the monkeys and tigers and even an elephant show. If they prefer to touch and play, the Swan Valley Cuddly Animal Farm is sure to excite them—feed, pet and enjoy all the farmyard animals in the heart of outdoor dining territory. AQWA is a must-see, showcasing the wonderful and unique marine life WA has to offer in one handy and interactive location. Stop in Rockingham and visit the world's smallest penguins on Penguin Island or head out to the Perth Observatory in the evening to count the stars.

Perth for the adventure seeker

With most of the state's population situated on the coastline, it's not difficult to find the perfect fishing or surf spot. As one of the windiest capitals in the world, Perth's also the perfect place to try your hand at windsurfing or kiteboarding. If golf is more your sport, you'll be spoilt for choice. Jet boats, water skiing, skydiving, bike paths and bush treks galore, there's always some way to get those thrills in Perth.

Perth for the romantics

Regular ranked in the top 10 most liveable, friendly and attractive cities in the world, it's hard not to fall in love. How about a romantic dinner overlooking a sparkling sunset at one of our world-famous beaches? Or a gondola ride for two down the beautiful Swan River? A picnic in Kings Park among the wildflowers is a must, as is a trip through the Swan Valley wine, cheese and chocolate region.

Perth for culture lovers

While European settlement only occurred in the 1800s, Aboriginal Australians have said to inhabit this land for over 60,000 years, making them one of the oldest surviving cultures in the world. Their deep connection to country, legendary Dreamtime stories and rich heritage are sure to fascinate. Experience a corroboree at Kings Park or attend a guided city tour to hear of Perth's history.

For architectural fans, Perth abounds in heritage-listed buildings and sites. Explore the historical Fremantle Markets, learn about our convict heritage at the Fremantle Prison, discover ghosts in Fremantle and Yanchep, wander the streets and laneways to see the amazing and unique street art, or take a scenic drive through the hills to discover bushland untouched for centuries.
