Bunbury is the gateway to the South West—one of Western Australia's most popular tourist destinations—and we've been getting passengers there since 1947. Initially, a steam locomotive travelling at 63km/hr, our recently retired train, the Australind, made the 167km journey in just two and a half hours. The train is an ADP/ADQ built by Comeng right here in WA.
Our original Australind train, the height of luxury for its time, is still on display at the Western Australian Rail Transport Museum.
