Terms and conditions:

  • The promotional code moreforless is available when booking online for travel between Saturday 1 February and Tuesday 31 March 2020 inclusive;
  • The promotion is only available to bookings completed online via Transwa’s website;
  • The discount can only be applied to full adult fares, with up to 14 adults being accepted on a ticket;
  • Changes to the date of travel will be accepted as long as travel occurs within the validity period and does not result in a change of fare;
  • Bookings made prior to the validity period (29 January 2020) do not qualify for the discount and cannot be backdated or adjusted; and
  • Changes to bookings are to be made prior to booked date and time of travel by telephoning Transwa on 1300 662 205.

Family fares

We'd love to see more families getting out and about in our great state on Transwa, so we're making it even more affordable.

Your kids already ride for 50% of the regular adult fare, and from 1 February 2017 we increased the discount to 75% when you travel as a family with between two and four children. That's a huge saving!

So, let Transwa be your family's personal people mover! Simply enter the promotional code 'family' when making your booking.

Transwa offers a range of discounted travel for Western Australian residents including Pensioners, Health Card, Seniors, Veterans, full-time Students and children. 

Online bookings are available to WA Health Care cardholders who have a Concession SmartRider and to WA Pensioners who have a Pensioner SmartRider. If you hold a Student, Senior, Pensioner, Concession or Veteran SmartRider, all you need is your SmartRider number and your date of birth at the time of booking online. Bookings can also be made by phone, at a Transwa Booking Centre or Accredited agent. Then at the time of boarding, have your valid concession card and your relevant SmartRider with you so that we can validate your ticket.

SmartRiders can be topped up at the East Perth and Bunbury Booking Centres.

Western Australian Pensioners who are registered with Transwa for the Free Travel entitlement can book concessional or Free Travel online using their customer reference number (CRN) or DVA file number and date of birth. Please note multi-leg journeys cannot be booked online with Free Travel entitlements, to make a booking contact Transwa by phone or email, visit a Transwa Booking Centre or Accredited agent.

 Assistance Dogs

Guide Dogs

Persons with a vision or hearing impairment can travel with an approved Guide Dog on Transwa services. The Guide Dog requires a valid identification card issued by a training organisation prescribed under the Dog Regulations 2013. Guide Dogs must have a suitably marked dog coat or harness that identifies it. More information about Guide Dogs can be found by contacting SEDA or VisAbility.

Department of Local Government and Communities Approved Assistance Dog 

Persons in a possession of a valid Approved Assistance Dog card can travel with their Assistance Dog on Transwa services. Assistance Dogs must have a suitably marked dog coat or harness that identifies it. More information about Assistance Dogs can be found by contacting the Department of Local Government and Communities or Assistance Dogs Australia.

 

No other animals are allowed on any of our services or facilities.

 ASH Concession Smartrider

Asylum Seeker - ASH Concession SmartRider

Western Australian residents in possession of a ASH Concession SmartRider are entitled to a 50% concession on all Transwa services

To be eligible for the concession, cardholders must present the valid ASH Concession SmartRider when booking and when travelling.

 Backpackers

Backpackers

VIP Backpackers Card/Youth Hostel Association Card

If you have a valid VIP Backpackers card or Youth Hostel Association Card you are entitled to a 10% discount on all Transwa services. 

To take advantage of the discount you will need to contact Transwa on 1300 662 2. We will need to see the cardholder's name and the expiry date at the time of booking. 

 Children

Children

Children aged 5 to 15 years (inclusive) are entitled to a 50% concession on all Transwa services.

Underage Children

Children aged 4 years and younger can travel on all Transwa services free of charge if they do not occupy a seat.

Each adult (16 years or older) can travel with up to two children under 5 years of age. Please note that only one child can travel on the lap of their accompanying adult. The other underage child must be seated next to them and subsequently pay a relevant children's fare. 

Unaccompanied Children

Children aged 10 to 15 years may travel without being accompanied by an adult provided a Travel Authorisation for Unaccompanied Child/Children form has been completed and presented to Transwa's operational staff. See our Advice for Adults factsheet that assists adults and guardians who book travel for unaccompanied children.

Bookings for unaccompanied children cannot be made online, please contact Transwa to make a booking.

 Companion Card

Companion Card

Transwa offers free travel to support persons travelling with someone carrying a Companion card. 

Companion cards are issued by National Disability Services WA to people with a significant permanent disability who require attendant care support from a companion.

Please Note: The passenger carrying the Companion card must purchase a valid ticket at the appropriate rate.

Companion card concession bookings cannot be made online, to make a booking please contact Transwa.

 Seniors and Pensioners

Pensioners/Seniors

Pensioner Concessions (DHS)

WA residents in possession of a valid Pensioner Concession card (physical or Digital Wallet) are entitled to a 50% concession on all Transwa services.

Registered WA Pensioner Concession cardholders also receive Free Travel entitlements each calendar year. This can be redeemed for two single journeys or one return journey on Transwa services.

Registered Pensioners with a Free Travel entitlement or concession as well as those with a Pensioner SmartRider can book online, over the phone, at a Transwa Booking Centre or Accredited agent.

To book concession travel online all you need is your Pensioner SmartRider number and your date of birth at the time of booking. Registered Pensioners can book concessional or Free Travel online using their customer reference number (CRN) or DVA file number and date of birth. 

Please note multi-leg journeys cannot be booked online with Free Travel entitlements, to make a booking contract Transwa via phone or email, visit a Booking Centre or Accredited agent. 

WA Pensioners using blue Free Trip Vouchers can present their vouchers and pension concession card to a Booking Centre or Accredited agent to book. 

Concession cards musts be carried and presented on request when booking and when travelling. 

Only the primary cardholder as named on the card can use the Pensioner card for concessional travel on Transwa services. 

 

Senior Concessions

Seniors nationally are entitled to a 50% concession on all Transwa services.

Senior SmartRider cards are granted by the Department of Local Government and Communities to Western Australian residents. The SmartRider is issued with or attached to the Seniors card, which shows the cardholders name, card number and State of issue. Senior cardholders from other States are entitled to 50% concession.

 Health Care

Health Care Card

WA residents in possession of a valid Heath Care Card are entitled to a 50% concession on all Transwa services.

The cards are granted by Centrelink offices and show the cardholders name, address, cardholder reference number and expiry date.

 Students

Students

Students (16 years +) are entitled to a 50% concession on all Transwa services. 

To be eligible for the concession, students must carry a valid Student SmartRider or Tertiary SmartRider on them at all times.

 Veterans

Veterans (DVA)

Transwa accepts a number of Concession Cards for Western Australian Veterans; the Veteran SmartRider, DVA Pensioner Concession Card and the Gold Health card entitle holders to a 50% concession on all Transwa services.

Registered DVA Pensioner Concession cardholders also receive Free Travel entitlements each calendar year, which can be redeemed for two single journeys or one return journey on Transwa services. The DVA Gold Health card issued by the Department of Veterans' Affairs entitles registered Veterans to four single or two return free trips each calendar year. Veteran concessions can be booked over the phone, at a Transwa Booking Centre or Accredited agent.

Veteran SmartRiders can book online, all you need is your SmartRider number and date of birth at the time of booking. Veterans Free Travel entitlements or concessional travel for registered cardholders can also book online, all you need is your DVA file number and date of birth at the time of booking.

 Vision Impaired

Vision Impaired

People in possession of a Travel Pass for Persons with a Vision Impairment are entitled to unlimited free journeys for them and an accompanying guide on all Transwa services. A Western Australian Vision Impairment Travel Pass is required for proof of eligibility. More information can be obtained from VisAbility or SEDA.

Holders of Interstate passes can obtain a WA Travel Pass from Transperth Reception, Level 1, Public Transport Centre, West Parade, East Perth.
